Premier Medical’s Corporate Membership with EWI

Premier Medical’s Corporate Membership with EWI

12th December 2019

We are delighted to announce that we have been approved as a Corporate Partner with Expert Witness Institute – EWI.

Premier Medical is the first of EWI’s current Corporate Members to be brought across to the new Corporate Membership scheme which was launched at the end of July. The new scheme, which is open to any organisation who employs or manages a panel of experts, seeks to recognise those organisations which ensure the quality of their experts; ensuring they are appropriately qualified and encouraging staff or panel members to develop their skills as an expert witness.

Launched in 1996, the EWI is independent of outside commercial interests. They have a register of expert witnesses that contains experts with a diverse range of expertise including medical, finance and accounting, business, construction and forensic science from across the UK, Ireland and across the globe.

Experts included on the directory have been fully vetted, having had their professional credentials checked and ensuring the reports they have written are compliant with appropriate regulations and are of excellent quality; providing instructing parties with assurance that when they appoint one of EWI’s experts, they are appointing an expert with the appropriate skills and experience.

Sir Martin Spencer, Chair of EWI, said: “We are pleased to confirm Premier Medical Group’s status as one of our Corporate Partners. Our assessment identified that Premier Medical have developed robust quality and compliance processes to ensure the ongoing quality of reports. Throughout our discussion, they demonstrated that they are keen to uphold standards and want to work more closely with EWI to improve the quality of their Experts.”

Dr Bob Goodall, Deputy Chairman and Responsible Officer, said, “We at Premier Medical are thrilled to be appointed as a Corporate Partner of the EWI. There is increasing scrutiny of Expert Witnesses and we are pleased to work with the EWI to continually promote and facilitate increasing standards to provide the courts with high quality independent opinion.”
